Dear Mr. Russert:

I enclose a copy of a letter we have received from Mr. diGenova acknowledging that the statement that "agents in the field were identified" by Mr. Pollard is his "professional opinion," as opposed to a matter of fact. I also enclose our letter in response which shows a divergence between the record and Mr. diGenova's opinion.

Unfortunately, the way this was communicated on Meet the Press makes it sound as if this is fact. We believe an on-the-air retraction is warranted.
